My name is Espen Abrahamsen and I am a designer, sculptor, and illustrator, who has worked as an Industrial Designer in the Bay Area since 2014. I began as an intern at Montaag, a design consultancy in Berkeley CA and was offered a full time position soon after. The scope of my work ranged from the product design for the Nima gluten sensor, to the development of an offshore construction vessel for VARD. During my time at Montaag I was able to refine my skillset, primarily using Solidworks, Blender, Z-brush, Keyshot and Photoshop to create renders, presentations, mock-ups and prototypes. Other interesting projects I worked on while at Montaag, include the Anza Concrete Espresso Machine to which I made all of the prototypes leading up to its successful KickStarter campaign, and a low-poly bust of Henrik Ibsen now on display at the Ibsen Museum in Skien, Norway.

My hobbies include, spending time with my children, sculpting, CAD modeling, 3D printing, fractals and nature. Primarily permaculture, and agroforestry (food forests). I am also a huge Science Fiction nerd. Before realizing my passion for design I worked as a firefighter for the better part of a decade; driving an ambulance, responding to structure fires and working on a wildland hand crew for 2 years cutting line on forest fires and clearing fuel breaks.

Iā€™m always looking for new projects and inspiration from fellow creatives. Please contact me to discuss collaborations, commissions or if you would just like set up an introduction.

Live long and prosper.

Espen Abrahamsen
